Re-wilding talks

In the past two years, we have delivered dozens inputs to a variety of gardening clubs and societies, Women's Institutes, U3a communities, Beekeeping groups, and wildlife volunteer groups.

The talks are delivered by Ed (left - he promises to dress better on the day), who has a background of delivering talks and briefings stretching back 25 years.

The content can be tailored to your group, and lasts between 20 and 60 minutes by request. We deliver talks on the following subjects:

  • The importance of native planting - how to incorporate more wildflowers into your garden,

  • UK butterflies - and how to attract them to your garden,

  • Enhancing your garden for nature - birds, ponds and water features, and other wildflife.

We add interest to our inputs using visuals, quizzes and wildflowers as props. We make the science easy to digest and focus heavily on what we can all do to improve our gardens/land for wildflife. We have only had great feedback, so will let our reviews do the talking. Click on the button or read the review below.

Fees for 2025, for up to 5 hours including travel, set-up, presentation, and questions. Maybe a bit of mingling with a brew and a biscuit :

£80 + small mileage fee of between £5 and £30 agreed in advance.

We ask that we can bring a scaled-down version of our exhibiting stand / plants for sale after the talk. We can discuss all of these things in more detail during your enquiry.

If it is not possible to bring plants for sale our fee is £120 + mileage, which covers the 5 hour commitment of providing a talk.

We only give talks within 80 miles of DN22, sorry.

Please enquire by email - Meadowmakers2021@gmail.com. Don't worry if we take a few days to reply, we are probably in a field somewhere (not ignoring you!). We always respond to every query.

I first met Ed at the Newark Garden…

I first met Ed at the Newark Garden Show, where I chatted with him and browsed the plants on his stall, I asked if he gave talks to Gardening Clubs, which he said he did, so he was subsequently booked to give his talk on ‘Re-Wilding, making Habitats for Wildlife,’ which he duly delivered to our Club.
Ed has a most warm, and attractive personality and is a ‘natural’ at engaging with his audience and keeping them absorbed in his subject. His excellent and informative talk was much enjoyed by all present, with several members commenting on it being one of the best talks we’ve ever had. I have subsequently asked Ed if he has other talks in his repertoire, which he has, so I shall be booking him again in the very near future.
As someone who has, for many years, regularly researched and booked Speakers for our Club, I have no hesitation whatsoever in heartily recommending Ed, whose passion for, and knowledge of his subject, is obvious, along with his ability to engage with his audience, which is exceptional.

Date of experience: 11 April 2024
